When I started R7Fitness in 2015 it looked a lot different. I had 3 members, a few basic pieces of equipment, but a head full of knowledge and a belly full of passion.
I always knew that I wanted to help people individually but with limited time and space I soon realised that 1:1 training wasn't a viable option. I found that members generally wanted the same thing from their training - to be fitter, stronger and improve their overall wellbeing.
From here, R7Fitness has evolved to what it is today. A system of training in a small group environment, with structured progressive programming based around specific categories of training: Strength, Stamina, Power, Bodyweight & Conditioning.
I've always recognised that every person is individual and there has to be an option to cater for that, and now in our brand new gym and facility in Gorseinon we can provide a fully holistic approach.
My passion for fitness began at a young age, reading anything I could about training, nutrition and wellbeing. I've trained for performance for rugby, achieving several honours and applying myself to a good standard of rugby and all forms of endurance activities including cycling the length of the UK and then Wales, completing marathons, triathlons shortest to the longest distance, functional fitness competitions and long distance obstacle course races. More recently with a young family and business my focus has been on being active daily, increasing strength, general fitness and functionally fit to play.
I love the versatility of the classes and also the mind set that we are training with a purpose, not just jumping about to achieve a sweat.
Each session you can tell is meticulously planned and although you’re in a group session, each member is given the rep scheme/ weight target based on their ability, strength and skill set. The coaches are extremely passionate in helping their members achieve their goals and and that I feel is what puts the personal touch to R7FITNESS.
In the years I have trained at R7FITNESS I have been able to achieve numerous strict bodyweight chin ups and pull ups, my fitness and body composition is in my opinion in the best condition I’ve felt and I have gained life long friends who empower and support you in and out of the gym.
I would recommend R7FITNESS to anyone of any age, skill or fitness level. What ever your goals or fitness ambitions, the coaches there have got you covered. You will be in capable and professional hands, you will have fun and definitely be a part of a great community!
